When is a weatherproof IP camera not weatherproof?

When it's this one! The CVADY-I477 advertised across the internet as weatherproof. In some cases, it's even advertised as IP66, which means waterproof and dustproof. It's neither. It lets in water like a sieve.

I have a number of these so have first hand experience of them.

This product comes from various China sellers so you try getting a refund. First thing you have to do is send it back to them which costs as much as it did to buy it in the first place. Then you only get the product price back, not the postage, not the return postage, not the import duty,  just the product price.

​For those of you taking notice, sending these back makes you grossly out of pocket, even when you get your refund.

Don't get me wrong, they're a great little camera, but you can get a brand name fully IP66 models for a similar price that you can send back and get a refund without it costing an arm and a leg, AND you don't have to pay import duty, 

I bought a few of these as samples to see what the quality was like before placing a large order. Good job I did.

So if you see any of these out there, you'll know they're only an indoor camera and nothing else.
