I like the idea of improving the rankings but we must remember a few basic facts. There can only be 10 websites on page one of any web search so how are these people going to guarantee me being on page one every time someone searches for my services when there are loads of other people all offering the same service. Get real!.
Another pointer to the scam is to do a search on their area of expertise. The emails I've had relate to SEO (search engine optimisation) and Link Optimisation so I search on these topics and guess what; no results for their website in the first ten pages of Google. Do I want to give lots of money to someone who can't even get their own website ranked - don't think so!
One of these emails even had a link to a B2B (business to business) profile on a networking website to give themselves credibility, except the link was dead and when I checked, they weren't even registered there anyway. The lengths these people will go to.
You have been warned!
